Offset
Set-off is relevant in situations where two subjects have claims against each other, that is, both have claims against the other. Set-off entails that the claims are settled against each other and are eliminated to the extent that they cover each other. Set-off is essentially not regulated by law, it is an unstatutory principle. This means that in principle there are no legal rules or regulations that regulate when set-off is permitted or how set-off should be carried out.
This course will give you enough insight to be able to perform offset calculations yourself.
